It is recommended you prepare all supporting documentation in advance of completing this application form, the form may timeout if completion takes too long. Current UQ students must be logged in, in order to save your progress.

- If applying for multiple opportunities, you only need to submit one application – you will have the opportunity to identify all the scholarships you are interested in.

Preparing your application
STEP 1: Prepare your curriculum vitae (CV)
Compile a CV outlinig your educational achievements, demonstrating academic excellence, any leadership positions held, extracurricular endeavours, and volunteering and community engagement activities. (maximum
2 single-sided A4 pages).
- Include a skills summary, showing alignment with Liveris Academy graduate attributes
- Include up-to-date contact information and ensure the email address you provide is correct and one you access regularly
- When highlighting your achievements and abilities, be specific and use clear and concise language.
- Proofread your documents for formatting, spelling and grammatical errors.
STEP 2: Prepare a cover letter
You cover letter must be addressed to Professor Tim Kastelle, Director, Liveris Academy, The University of Queensland (maximum
one single-sided A4 page)
- Your cover letter should explicitly address the four following points:
- Why you would like to be a member of the Liveris Academy
- Your leadership potential
- Two key qualities that you will bring to the Liveris Academy
- The perceived benefits you would receive from being awarded a scholarship
STEP 3: Documentation of Academic Achievement
You will be required to submit a copy of your
Semester 2, Year 11, report and yourSemester 1, Year 12, report (for commencing students), OR a copy of your SI-net Study Report, demonstrating your current GPA (current UQ students).
STEP 4: Short written responses
Please prepare
short written responses to the following questions - each response must be no more than 200 words.
Q1. Provide an example or examples of extra-curricular activities you have participated in during the previous2 years. Explain how these activities have made an impact on your community and how this would help you as a Liveris Scholar at UQ.
Q2. Provide an example of a significant challenge that you have faced when working as a team and how you applied your leadership skills to overcome the challenge
STEP 5: Record a short video
Prepare a
short video to explain how you believe you can contribute towards creating a sustainable future as part of a cohort of effective and inspiring leaders.
Your video must be
NO LONGER THAN 1 MINUTE LONG. Please submit the link (URL) for this video later in the application form.
Please Note:It is the responsibility of applicants to ensure videos can be accessed by our selection panel – if your link is not accessible, your application will not be accepted.
If using YouTube, when uploading your video you need to change the video setting to "Unlisted". By changing this setting, the video is only visible to those who have the link. The video will not appear to viewers who visit the Videos tab on the channel page. It also won't appear in YouTube search results unless it is added to a public playlist.
STEP 6: Additional supporting documentation
Eligibility for the
Pekol Family Scholarship for Women in Engineering requires demonstration of financial hardship.
If you are part of the
Young Achievers Program or on a UQ Link Scholarship you DO NOT need to provide further documentation.
If you are not part of the programs mentioned above, suitable documentation includes:
- recent assessment notices of current Government Assistance you are receiving, e.g. Centrelink, Youth Allowance, Austudy.
- If you are not currently receiving any Government assistance and are dependent on support from your parent/s or caregiver/s, please provide copies of their 2024/2025 Australian Taxation Office Notice of Assessment. Please be aware you must provide this information from both parents/caregivers (if relevant).
- If you are independent of your parent/s or caregiver/s, please provide 8 recent copies of your payslips and, if applicable, a copy of your Australian Taxation Office Notice of Assessment 2024/2025.
Other important information:
- Incomplete and late applications will not be processed.
