As a IT student, whether you are in your 1st or final year of study, the skills you have attained in your course, are more often than not, not enough. You will come to learn that you need at least 3 years industry experience and you have to have something other than your skills - you have to have a clear vision about you and why someone should hire YOU.
Come along to this half day Career Boot Camp (22nd November - during the Uni break) to unpack what it is that you have to offer a future employer. It's the best time to dedicate some time to your personal development - no exams, no assignments - just some YOU time to think about your career path without the stresses of study on your shoulders.
Learn about the 3 main areas of skills shortage, how to break into these areas, match your current skills to international standards and how to effectively and confidently articulate your strengths.
Being a member of an industry association, such as the ACS - especially as a student, will give you access to whatever a full member has access to, such as: key industry information, networking, a jobs board, professional development and much more.
Please note you must be an current ACS member to enable completion of your personal MySFIA assessment which is part of this event.
